Job summary

Waters of Cheatham is seeking a dedicated custodial associate to perform floor care and general housekeeping in our healthcare facility. You will sweep, mop, strip, wax, buff and deep-clean floors to maintain a clean, safe environment for residents and staff.

The role requires physical stamina to stand, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds, and prior custodial or healthcare floor care experience is a plus. You must follow oral and written instructions with minimal supervision while maintaining safety

Responsibilities

• Maintain daily logs of floor care activities and report hazards.
• Provide polite, positive customer service and maintain a quiet demeanor around residents and staff.
• Assist with general housekeeping or room setups as needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Floor Maintenance: Sweep, mop, strip, wax, buff, polish, and deep-clean hard floors (tile, vinyl, concrete).
• Carpet Care: Vacuum, shampoo, and perform water extraction on carpets and rugs.
• Equipment Operation: Safely operate and maintain heavy floor machinery, including buffers, burnishers, auto-scrubbers, and extractors.
• Safety & Infection Control: Follow strict facility, OSHA, and CDC guidelines to reduce pathogens, handle chemicals properly, and place warning signs (like "wet floor" cones).
• Record Keeping: Maintain accurate daily logs of floor care activities and report any maintenance or safety hazards to supervisors.
• Resident Interaction: Offer polite, positive customer service and maintain a respectful, quiet demeanor around residents and staff.
• General Support: Assist with general housekeeping or room setups as needed by the facility.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
• Experience: Prior custodial or healthcare-specific floor care experience is a plus.
• Physical Demands: High physical stamina, ability to stand or walk for long shifts, and capability to bend, stoop, and lift or carry up to 50 pounds.
• Skills: Good understanding of cleaning chemicals, attention to detail, and the ability to follow oral and written instructions with minimal supervision.
