Job summary

MonoSol in Indiana is seeking a Floor Supervisor to lead daily manufacturing operations, ensuring safe, compliant production of high-quality products. You will oversee production staff, coordinate resources, and drive performance to meet safety, quality, productivity, and cost goals.

You will coach and develop team members, monitor production metrics, and partner with maintenance, quality, engineering, and safety to solve issues and implement improvements.

  • Monitor production performance and metrics; identify opportunities to reduce waste and improve efficiency.
  • Direct production activities including line operations, changeovers, and process optimization.
  • Collaborate with Maintenance, Quality, Engineering, Safety, IT, and Talent Experience to resolve issues.

Job description

The Floor Supervisor provides hands-on leadership for daily manufacturing operations, ensuring the safe, efficient, and compliant production of quality products. This role oversees production employees, coordinates resources, supports continuous improvement initiatives, and drives performance to meet safety, quality, productivity, and cost objectives. The Floor Supervisor serves as a key link between production teams and cross-functional departments, fostering a culture of accountability, communication, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop production team members while promoting a culture of safety, accountability, engagement, and continuous improvement.
  • Supervise daily manufacturing operations to ensure safety, quality, productivity, delivery, and cost objectives are achieved.
  • Drive compliance with all safety, environmental, quality, and regulatory requirements; lead incident response, corrective actions, and safe work practices.
  • Plan and coordinate staffing, scheduling, work assignments, and resource allocation to support operational requirements.
  • Monitor production performance, workforce utilization, and key operational metrics; identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Direct production activities including line operations, changeovers, production trials, troubleshooting, and process optimization.
  • Partner with Maintenance, Quality, Engineering, Safety, IT, and Talent Experience to resolve issues and support business objectives.
  • Provide leadership in employee training, onboarding, performance management, attendance management, and career development.
  • Investigate operational, safety, and quality concerns and implement corrective and preventive actions to improve performance.
  • Ensure products meet customer specifications and quality standards through process monitoring, audits, and team accountability.
  • Maintain accurate production records, reports, timekeeping, inventory, and operational documentation.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, productivity, reliability, and employee engagement.
  • Participate in hiring, promotions, workforce planning, disciplinary decisions, and other employee lifecycle activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Strong leadership, coaching, and employee development skills.
    Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and production operations.
  • Ability to analyze production data and make sound operational decisions.
  • Familiarity with safety regulations, quality systems, and production scheduling.
  • Proficiency with manufacturing software, reporting systems, and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and manage multiple priorities

Qualifications


Education

Associate degree or technical training preferred.

Experience

  • Manufacturing, production, or operations leadership experience required.
  • Experience leading or coordinating the work of others in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience working with safety, quality, and continuous improvement programs preferred.

  • The compensation range that is described below is the possible base pay compensation that the company believes in good faith that it will pay for this role at the time of posting based on job grade for the position. Individual compensation within this range is based on many factors such as years of experience etc. so the company might pay more or less than the posted range and it is understood that this range may be modified in the future.
  • In addition to base compensation, MonoSol provides a yearly incentive compensation bonus, a profit sharing bonus when eligible, a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision insurances, short term disability, long term disability, accidental death and dismemberment, term life insurance, voluntary term life insurance, transit flexible spending account (if applicable), employee assistance program, identity theft protection, 401k and paid time off (vacation and sick days).

Compensation range - $67,846.08 - $89,830.55

Paid time off amount - 15 days
