Job summary

UPMC Passavant-Cranberry is hiring a Full-Time Floor & Project Technician to support our housekeeping team on the 2nd shift (3:30pm–12am). This role focuses on cleaning, carpet care, and floor maintenance in patient areas while upholding hospital safety standards.

You will follow established sanitation procedures, operate cleaning equipment safely, and report issues to supervision. Qualifications include HS diploma or GED, or EVS training, with 1 year of related experience a plus.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required, or completion of EVS training.
• 1 year related housekeeping experience in lieu of diploma.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and use cleaning equipment.

Responsibilities

• Handle emergency cleanups with proper sanitizing procedures.
• Shampoo and extract carpets in assigned areas.
• Maintain floors by removing soil, wax, and sealers.
• Inspect assigned areas and report issues to supervisor.
• Use and care for equipment safely and responsibly.
• Follow safety and sanitation standards to keep patients, visitors, and staff safe.
• Work within hospital policies and support system-wide behaviors.
• Perform other duties as needed to support the team.

What You'll Do:

Qualifications:

• HS Diploma/GED OR
  • 1 YR previous job experience required in lieu of HS Diploma/GED OR
  • successful completion of the 5-week EVS training program
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions in order to successfully complete housekeeping duties.
• Ability to use all housekeeping equipment.
• May in the course of duties be in rooms where medications are stored.
• No contact with medications is allowed.
