Job summary

UPMC Shadyside is interviewing for a Full-Time Floor & Project Technician to join our Environmental Services team.

You will be responsible for maintaining all types of floor surfaces, including stripping/refinishing hard floors and shampooing carpeted areas to ensure a clean and safe environment. The position runs 3:00pm-11:30pm with every other weekend rotation.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED or 1 year prior housekeeping experience.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions to complete duties.
• Ability to use all housekeeping equipment.
• May be in rooms where medications are stored; no contact with medications allowed.
• No contact with medications is allowed.

Responsibilities

• Cleans and sanitizes after emergency spill clean-up requests.
• Change Shampoo to Extracts.
• Inspect and ensure that all assigned areas are properly cleaned and in good repair, reporting all problems to the supervisor.
• Shampoo assigned carpeted areas.
• Maintain all assigned equipment; keep equipment clean and in good repair, report all problems and suggestions to the supervisor.
• Comply with all Hospital/Department policies and procedures.
• Follow all safety and sanitation regulations, reporting problems to the shift supervisor.
• Remove all soil, wax, and sealer from assigned hard-surface floor
• rs.
• Uses chemicals and solutions per department Tech Manual.
