Job description

Job Title: Floor Manager

The Floor Manager is responsible for leading, managing, and overseeing service operations. They manage their teams in alignment with Jack’s Wife Freda's culture, ensuring both employee and guest experiences meet company standards. They embody the philosophy of “leading from the door,” building connections, and fostering community outreach. This key team member actively engages and coaches their hourly teams, leading by example to inspire their restaurant team.

The Floor Manager must have a comprehensive understanding of all areas of their business, managing daily operations, collaborating with peers, and supporting the AGM. They are responsible for developing talent through training, setting high standards for service, and mentoring new team members.

Responsibilities:
  1. Assist with training and development of new and existing employees.
  2. Foster teamwork among employees and peers.
  3. Coordinate with FOH & BOH teams to ensure a consistent, outstanding guest experience.
  4. Address guest needs promptly and effectively.
  5. Monitor inventory daily to minimize waste and maximize product use.
  6. Support the AGM in maintaining NYC Department of Health standards, aiming for an “A” Grade.
  7. Authorize, control, and review all comps and voids per shift.
  8. Identify, document, and address employee performance issues according to HR standards.
  9. Ensure proper staffing for each service and assign sections accordingly.
  10. Participate in regular and annual employee training sessions.
  11. Follow cash handling procedures and hold employees accountable.
  12. Verify and correct time entries and tips in the POS system for payroll processing.
  13. Create an enjoyable dining atmosphere through lighting, music, and temperature control.
  14. Perform various duties to ensure smooth restaurant operations according to SOPs.
  15. Delegate tasks to ensure effective teamwork during service.
  16. Complete projects timely and efficiently.
  17. Lead and manage employees in line with Jack’s Wife Freda’s culture.
  18. Respond to guest needs reflecting the company’s values.
  19. Provide feedback on employee experience during weekly meetings, focusing on retention strategies.
  20. Conduct performance discussions and provide real-time feedback to employees.
  21. Facilitate constructive communication between employees and BOH managers.
  22. Uphold policies, procedures, and philosophies outlined in the Jack’s Wife Freda handbook, including employee benefits.
  23. Implement initiatives to recognize and appreciate employees.
  24. Communicate maintenance and repair needs promptly.
  25. Address guest and staff issues proactively.
  26. Support team decision-making processes.
