Brief Description

Floor Leads provide support, analysis, and recommendations to store management to ensure operational efficiency at the store and delivery level. They deliver best‑in‑class customer engagement to drive sales.

Overview

Floor Leads take responsibility for sales floor activities in conjunction with store leadership and assist the Specialist Team by working with Store Management to perform daily operational functions. They adhere to company policies, act with integrity under supervision, and partner with various managers to oversee policy compliance and operational administrative duties.

Core Responsibilities
Sales & Profitability
  • Help drive store profitability by guiding team members to deliver a positive and friendly experience through thoughtful conversation and exceptional service.
  • Partner with store leadership to educate and communicate hourly and daily goals to drive sales.
  • Assist in communicating store team coverage—including breaks and lunches—in accordance with business needs, traffic trends and Meal Break Policy.
  • Prioritize and communicate department insights to direct supervisor.
People Development
  • Assume the role of peer mentor in‑store regarding talent development and employee mentorship.
  • Model the way by leading and inspiring the team.
  • Strategically train and develop a productive store team in core competencies of service and product knowledge.
  • Support the development of team members with an aptitude or interest in store leadership to ensure bench strength and succession planning.
Communication
  • Lead with strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Possess excellent communication skills, effectively delegate projects, and consistently follow up with the team.
  • Exhibit consistent professional communication, follow‑through and problem‑solving skills while maintaining a global view of store operations.
  • Communicate store and company information/directives to the store team.
  • Actively participate in daily, department and store meetings.
  • Effectively utilize the Communication Binder, among other resources, to ensure that important information reaches the entire team.
  • Show willingness to grow as a Floor Lead by going beyond assigned department tasks to take on additional responsibilities.
Store Environment
  • Support store operations to maximize sales through analytical and creative management of merchandise from receipt to sale.
  • Support the team by contributing to the maintenance of all product stock areas.
  • Coach the team to take initiative as employees to oversee all levels of customer service by setting daily goals and expectations to create a positive store environment.
  • Exhibit excellent floor presence by consistently training the store team on customer standards, product knowledge, product placement and time management.
  • Guide the team to uphold company customer service standards.
Operations
  • Lead the team to perform all store‑level operational procedures accurately and in a timely fashion, in accordance with all company policies and procedures.
  • Support store goals by training in loss‑prevention awareness and overseeing adherence to loss‑prevention practices.
  • Assist in leading the team in shipping and receiving processes and complete shipment turnaround process.
  • Ensure that all operational tasks are completed and support that all backstock areas are clean and organized.
  • Ensure compliance with all BCC, State and City regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with company emergency and safety procedures to protect employees and customers from accidents and incidents.
  • Maintain regular attendance and punctuality.
Merchandising and Display
  • Collaborate with the General Manager and store leadership to enhance the store environment and efficiently execute all inventory and merchandising tasks.
  • Collaborate with the General Manager and store leadership to ensure fast and efficient flow of merchandise to the sales floor.
  • Ensure a neat, clean, and organized store environment.
  • Exhibit a strong understanding of current product and trend awareness.
  • Support the store team by assisting in merchandising and display of products as needed.

  • Communicate and coach effectively to all levels.

Additional Responsibilities
  • Must be 21+ years old.
  • Qualified candidates should have a minimum of two years of management experience in a retail environment.
  • Must pass a federal background check via Live Scan in certain markets.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, but experience is paramount.
  • Experience working in highly regulated businesses is desirable.
  • Use sound judgment when making decisions.
  • Assume other duties assigned by supervisor.
  • Exhibit strong leadership skills among peers and communicate confidently at the store level.
  • Uphold excellent customer service skills and a service‑oriented culture.
  • Achieve statistical results (sales, shrinkage).
  • Previous retail experience preferred.
  • Previous cannabis experience preferred.
Work Environment
  • This job operates in a professional cannabis store environment.
  • This role routinely uses standard office and store equipment such as computers, phones, printers, and POS.
  • This position regularly requires working evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
Physical Demands
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to see, talk, and hear.
  • The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, use hands or feet, reach with hands and arms, and lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
  • This is a non‑exempt, full‑time, hourly position which reports to the Store Management Team.
  • This position can require work on early mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidays.
Travel
  • This position may require travel to corporate offices as well as other store locations for training, learning and development.
