Job summary

Elkton Nursing is seeking a dedicated floor care technician to maintain a clean and sanitary environment within the facility. The role includes stripping, scrubbing, refinishing, and buffing tiled floors, as well as vacuuming and spot cleaning carpets.

The job requires weekend and evening availability for special projects and the ability to assist with washing walls, furniture, ceilings, and other heavy cleaning tasks.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and write.
• Ability to effectively follow simple oral and written instructions.
• Ability to operate cleaning equipment.
• Ability to perform as a team player, and get along with all other employees.
• Knowledgeable of floor care chemicals and cleaners, as well as application practices.
• Efficient in the use and maintenance of all floor care equipment and supplies, including buffers, pads, wet-vacs, burnishers, scrubbers, and extractors.
• Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean, sanitary environment to minimize infection risk.
• Promote safety for patients, families, and staff.
• Strips, scrubs, sweeps, refinishes, and buffs tiled floor areas.
• Vacuums and spot cleans carpets; perform cyclical cleaning per project schedule.
• Work on weekends and evenings for special floor and carpet projects.
• Assist in washing walls, furniture, ceilings and other heavy cleaning tasks.
