Carlson in Minnesota is hiring dependable Floor Care Technicians to support our retail operations across the state. This hands-on role fits someone who works well independently and can report for very early morning shifts.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Experience in floor care or janitorial is preferred but not required.
• Willingness to learn professional floor care equipment and cleaning procedures.
• Reliable transportation to assigned locations.

• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, scrub, buff, burnish, and maintain hard-surface flooring.
• Vacuum, shampoo, spot-clean, and extract carpeted areas.
• Operate floor care equipment safely.
• Clean restrooms, offices, breakrooms, entrances, and other areas.
• Remove trash and maintain clean work areas.
• Follow daily task lists and schedules.
• Inspect equipment and report issues.
• Follow safety procedures and product instructions.
• Work independently and with team members to meet customer expectations.

What You'll Do

• Sweep, mop, scrub, buff, burnish, and maintain hard‑surface flooring
• Vacuum, shampoo, spot‑clean, and extract carpeted areas
• Operate floor scrubbers, buffers, and other floor care equipment safely
• Clean restrooms, offices, breakrooms, entrances, and other assigned areas
• Remove trash and maintain clean, organized work and storage areas
• Follow daily task lists and complete assignments within scheduled hours
• Inspect equipment and report maintenance issues, damage, or supply shortages
• Place safety signs, cones, and barriers around wet or actively serviced areas
• Follow all safety procedures and cleaning‑product instructions
• Work independently and with other Carlson team members to meet customer expectations
• Assist with additional cleaning and floor care duties as assigned

What We're Looking For

• Must be at least 18 years old
• Previous floor care, janitorial, custodial, or commercial cleaning experience is preferred but not required
• Willingness to learn professional floor care equipment and cleaning procedures
• Dependable transportation to assigned work locations
• Strong attendance, punctuality, and reliability
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision
• Strong attention to detail and time‑management skills
• Ability to communicate professionally with coworkers, customers, and store personnel
• Availability for early morning hours, weekends, and holidays as needed
• Flexibility to work varying schedules and, when needed, at different locations within the Minnesota market

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

• Ability to regularly lift up to 45 pounds
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
• Ability to bend, reach, stoop, kneel, push, and pull throughout the shift
• Ability to push and pull floor care equipment across various floor surfaces
• Ability to work safely around wet floors, cleaning products, and mechanical equipment
• Work is primarily performed indoors during early morning and other nontraditional hours
