Job summary

The Facilities Group is seeking an energetic floor technician to keep our facilities' floors clean. You will be responsible for maintaining all floor areas and for sustaining high standards of cleanliness and sanitation.

You will operate floor sweepers, buffers, strippers, canister vacuum cleaners, and shop vacuums, and you will wear adequate PPE when working with chemicals. This full-time role involves cleaning offices, hallways, common areas, moving furniture, waxing floors, and assisting with

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Prior professional janitorial or cleaning experience.
  • Prior floor care experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of industrial cleaning equipment and appliances.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to pass a background check.
  • Authorized to work in the U.S. – E-Verify

Responsibilities

  • Clean offices, hallways, common areas, and other areas.
  • Move furniture before and after cleaning.
  • Clean, dust, mopping, stripping, and waxing floors.
  • Operate floor equipment including extractors and buffing machines.
  • Use floor polishers, vacuum cleaners, mops, floor strippers.
  • Inspect floors for any damage and carry out minor repairs.
  • Measuring chemicals correctly and operate dispensing units.
  • Labeling chemicals correctly.
  • Clean, maintain, and store equipment and PPE.
  • Keep inventory of floor areas and schedule cleaning/maintenance duties.
  • Report maintenance issues to supervisor.
  • Assist with hazardous waste collection as requested by supervisor.

What You’ll Be Doing

We are looking for an energetic floor technician to keep our facilities’ floors clean. You will be responsible for maintaining all floor areas and for sustaining high standards of cleanliness and sanitation. You will be responsible for dusting, wet mopping, stripping, waxing, buffing floors, remove spots from carpets, perform bonnet and carpet extraction cleaning, dispose of trash, and assist with hazardous waste collection. You will operate floor sweepers, buffers, strippers, canister vacuum cleaners, and shop vacuums, and you will wear adequate personal protective equipment (PPE) when working with chemicals and equipment.

Floor Tech Responsibilities
  • Cleaning offices, hallways, common areas, and other areas.
  • Moving furniture before and after cleaning.

  • Other responsibilities as assigned by your supervisor.
Floor Tech Requirements
  • High school diploma, GED, or suitable equivalent preferred.
  • Prior professional janitorial or cleaning experience.
  • Prior floor care experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of industrial cleaning equipment and appliances.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to pass a background check in accordance with local laws and regulations.
