Job summary

The Facilities Group National is seeking a Floor Tech for the Moreno Valley, CA area to join our full-time AM shift team. You will be responsible for keeping facility floors clean and sanitary, including dusting, wet mopping, stripping, waxing, buffing, carpet spot removal, and related maintenance tasks while using PPE with chemicals and equipment.

You will operate floor sweepers, buffers, strippers, canister vacuums, and shop vacuums, support hazardous waste collection as needed, and report

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or suitable equivalent preferred.
• Prior professional janitorial or cleaning experience.
• Prior floor care experience preferred.
• Knowledge of industrial cleaning equipment and appliances.
• Ability to pass a background check in accordance with local laws and regulations.
• Authorized to work in the U.S. – We Use E-Verify

Responsibilities

• Cleaning offices, hallways, common areas, and other areas.
• Moving furniture before and after cleaning.
• Cleaning, dusting, mopping, stripping, and waxing floors.
• Operating floor equipment including extractors and buffing machines.
• Use hand and power tools such as floor polishers, vacuum cleaners, mops, floor strippers.
• Inspect floors for any damage and carrying out minor repairs.
• Measuring chemicals correctly.
• Operating chemical dispensing units.
• Labeling chemicals correctly.
• Cleaning, maintaining, and storing equipment and PPE proficiently.
• Keeping an inventory of floor areas, and scheduling cleaning and maintenance duties.
• Reporting maintenance issues to supervisor.
• Assisting with the hazardous waste collection as requested by your supervisor.
• Other responsibilities as assigned by your supervisor.

What you’ll be doing:

We are looking for an energetic floor technician to keep our facilities’ floors clean. You will be responsible for maintaining all floor areas and for sustaining high standards of cleanliness and sanitation. You will be responsible for dusting, wet mopping, stripping, waxing, buffing floors, remove spots from carpets, perform bonnet and carpet extraction cleaning, dispose of trash, and assist with hazardous waste collection. You will operate floor sweepers, buffers, strippers, canister vacuum cleaners, and shop vacuums, and you will wear adequate personal protective equipment (PPE) when working with chemicals and equipment.
