POSITION OVERVIEW:
Responsible for the overall floor maintenance of hard surface and carpet (stripping, waxing, buffing, shampooing, extraction, & bonneting) areas that include offices, training rooms, lobbies, entrances, stairwells, and other public areas.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSAND MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Handles floor care, including routine mopping (dry and damp), buffing and burnishing on hard surface.
Provides floor maintenance; including but not limited to,vacuuming, shampooing, bonneting and extracting carpets and stairwells.
Mixes chemicals needed to perform duties.
Insure that all equipment is kept clean, and report anymalfunctions or safety hazards to the Supervisor.
Performs preventative maintenance check on all equipmentprior to use.
Move furniture, equipment, supplies and tools on anincidental basis.
Provides other cleaning services; such as, dusting, routinerestroom, office, and classroom cleaning.
Follows all safety requirements and procedures at all times.
Continually support the agency safety program and contributeto customer and employee safety.
Accomplishes organization mission by completing relatedassignments as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS ANDSPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED
HS diploma/GED
Work experience as a custodial with floor care experience.
Must be able to take and follow directions.
Must be able to identify and understand chemicals.
Must have knowledge of custodial equipment.
