Responsibilities

  • Perform daily cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming floors in assigned areas.
  • Operate floor care machines including buffers, scrubbers, and polishers to maintain floor surfaces.
  • Apply floor finishes, waxes, and sealants according to manufacturer guidelines and company standards.
  • Inspect floors regularly to identify areas requiring special attention or repair and report issues to supervisors.

Salary Range: $18.00 To $20.00 Hourly

About the Role:

The Floor Tech plays a critical role in maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and aesthetic appeal of various floor surfaces within commercial, industrial, or residential settings. This position is responsible for performing routine and specialized floor care tasks, including sweeping, mopping, stripping, waxing, and buffing to ensure floors are in optimal condition. The Floor Tech contributes to creating a welcoming and professional environment by adhering to established cleaning standards and safety protocols. This role requires attention to detail, physical stamina, and the ability to operate floor care equipment efficiently. Ultimately, the Floor Tech supports the overall facility maintenance team by ensuring floors are clean, safe, and well-maintained, enhancing the experience for occupants and visitors alike.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in floor care or janitorial services preferred but not required.
  • Ability to operate floor cleaning equipment safely and effectively.
  • Physical ability to perform manual labor including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
  • Basic understanding of cleaning chemicals and safety protocols.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Certification in floor care or related maintenance training.
  • Experience with a variety of floor types such as tile, hardwood, vinyl, and concrete.
  • Knowledge of OSHA safety standards and compliance.
  • Strong time management skills and ability to work independently.
  • Customer service experience or ability to interact professionally with building occupants.
