Job summary

Goodwill South Florida in Miami, FL is hiring for a full-time cleaner responsible for maintaining a clean and sanitary environment within the facility. The role requires basic cleaning duties and the ability to operate cleaning equipment to keep floors and areas in good condition.

Three months of cleaning experience is expected; strong customer service and safety awareness are valued. The position includes varied custodial responsibilities and readiness to perform additional duties as needed.

Responsibilities

• Employ proper techniques for floor care and area preparation, including cleaning, buffing, stripping, and waxing, as well as carpet cleaning.
• Must be able to operate and maintain all floor cleaning and finishing equipment, including but not limited to floor buffers, burnishers, water extraction machines, and carpet cleaning equipment.
• Follow all safety precautions for cleaning and maintaining all areas of the facility.
• Prepare all setups with tables, chairs, and tablecloths.
• Ability to handle emergencies, including liquid spills, slips, and exposure to body fluids.
• Perform custodial duties when required.
• All other duties as assigned.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods. Must be able to lift more than 35 lbs. Must be able to push heavy equipment, including cleaning station supplies, vacuum cleaners, floor stripping equipment, trash cans and water buckets. Must be capable of communicating any problem to the immediate supervisor.

Work Environment

The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
