Job summary

Goodwill Ind Serv Contracts-GWISC in Miami, FL is seeking a Floor Care Attendant to maintain a clean and sanitary environment within the facility. You will perform floor care, carpet cleaning, and setup duties for events, while operating and maintaining cleaning equipment and following safety protocols.

Three months of cleaning experience is required; you will report to a supervisor and collaborate with staff to address issues, with opportunities to grow within a supportive non-profit

Qualifications

  • Three months of cleaning experience.
  • Must be capable of communicating any problems to the immediate supervisor.
  • Must have prior related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Perform floor care and area prep, including cleaning, buffing, stripping, waxing, and carpet cleaning.
  • Operate and maintain floor cleaning equipment, including buffers, burnishers, water extractors, and carpet cleaners.
  • Follow safety precautions for cleaning and maintaining all areas of the facility.
  • Prepare setups with tables, chairs, and tablecloths.
  • Handle emergencies, including liquid spills, slips, and exposure to body fluids.
  • Perform custodial duties when required.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Employ proper techniques for floor care and area preparation, including cleaning, buffing, stripping, and waxing, as well as carpet cleaning.
  • Must be able to operate and maintain all floor cleaning and finishing equipment, including but not limited to floor buffers, burnishers, water extraction machines, and carpet cleaning equipment.
  • Follow all safety precautions for cleaning and maintaining all areas of the facility.
  • Prepare all setups with tables, chairs, and tablecloths.
  • Ability to handle emergencies, including liquid spills, slips, and exposure to body fluids.
  • Perform custodial duties when required.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Physical Demands

Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods. Must be able to lift more than 35 lbs. Must be able to push heavy equipment, including cleaning station supplies, vacuum cleaners, floor stripping equipment, trash cans, and water buckets. Must be capable of communicating any problem to the immediate supervisor.

Work Environment

The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
