Job summary

Southern Cleaning Services seeks on-site cleaning staff in LaGrange, GA to perform floor care, restroom sanitation, and event prep tasks across facilities. You will sweep, mop, polish, and vacuum diverse floor types, handle furniture moves, and maintain cleanliness of windows and fixtures as part of a flexible routine.

The role involves lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally, standing for long periods, and adhering to safety and chemical-use procedures within a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, stripping, waxing, and vacuuming.
• Care for different types of floors (carpet, tile, VCT, wood) by hand or power equipment.
• Follow procedures for chemical cleaners and power equipment to prevent damage.
• Prepare cleaning solutions by mixing water and detergents or acids.
• Steam-clean or shampoo carpets.
• Strip, seal, finish, and polish floors.
• Move heavy furniture, equipment, and supplies manually or with hand trucks.
• Gather and empty trash; service and clean restrooms.
• Clean and polish furniture, fixtures, windows, mirrors; dust surfaces.
• Clean laboratory equipment with solvents, brushes, and power cleaning equipment.
• Monitor building security and safety; lock doors after hours and check electrical usage.
• Notify managers about major repairs or additions to building systems.
• Remove snow from sidewalks and parking areas with snow-melting chemicals.
• Requisition supplies and equipment for cleaning and maintenance; set up facilities for events.
