Flender in Elgin, IL is seeking a Floor Assembler to join our team on a full-time basis. You will assemble wind turbine power transmissions and subassemblies, reading blueprints and assembly cards, and using tools, ovens, cranes, and forklifts to complete tasks safely and accurately.
Lathe experience is helpful but not required; general shop safety training and ability to work with peers are important. You may supervise lower-grade workers and perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Performs assembly of wind turbine power transmissions and their subassemblies. Works from blueprints, parts lists and assembly cards. Uses parts washers, freezers, ovens, cranes, fork trucks, hand, and power tools. Will shim and final assemble gear units. Can work alone, with other assemblers, and oversees lower grade assemblers and May perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
