Job summary

ServiceMaster Residential Co in Romeoville, IL is seeking a part-time floor care technician with a flexible schedule. The role includes cleaning, maintaining, and repairing carpeted and hard floor surfaces, with evenings after 5 PM and weekends as needed.

The position requires loading equipment at the Romeoville office and transporting it to job sites, operating floor machinery, and following safety protocols. Training is provided and punctuality is valued.

Qualifications

• Perform all floor cleaning and maintenance duties using provided tools and procedures.
• Must be proficient with listed floor equipment.
• Ability to operate and handle multiple floor machines safely.
• Ability to read cleaning instructions.
• Must communicate in English.
• No experience required.

Responsibilities

• Clean, maintain, and repair carpeted and hard floor surfaces.
• Load equipment from office in Romeoville and transport to job sites.
• Sweep, mop, polish, vacuum, shampoo carpets, strip, wax, buff. Move furniture as needed.
• Maintain inventory of supplies and equipment.
• Use proper PPE and safety equipment as required.
• Open and lock facilities and manage security as required.

This is a part time position.

Job Position Description

This position is responsible for cleaning, maintaining, and repairing carpeted and hard floor surfaces. This hire will need to come to the office, in Romeoville, to pick up the necessary equipment, load it up in the company's van to transport to the job site. Other duties may be Assigned:

Requirements

• Perform all floor cleaning and maintenance duties for facilities using ServiceMaster provided tools and procedures
• Proficiency with walk behind floor strippers, waxing equipment, floor burnishers and carpet cleaners/extractors a MUST!
• Duties include: sweeping, mopping, polishing, vacuuming, shampoo carpets, stripping, waxing, buffing. moving furniture, disinfect floors with sanitizer & spot cleaning
• Must achieve thorough understanding of floor maintenance procedures such as but not limited to, stripping and waxing, identifying different flooring types.
• Ability to operate various floor equipment and machinery
• Maintain inventory of supplies and equipment.
• Use proper PPE and safety equipment as required
• Open and lock facilities, enable and disable security system as required.
• NO experience NEEDED!!
• Experience working for a professional janitorial or floor care company, office complex, hotel, hospital or school is a plus.
• The ability to be flexible, work at a fast-paced and in a multi-tasked job is a must.
• Contribute to a positive work climate with a pleasant attitude and contribute to the overall team effort including being in uniform, dependable and on time
• Has respect and understanding for co-workers and customers
• Must be able to communicate in English

Physical Demands and Qualifications

• Constant (up to 100%) standing, walking, pushing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, twisting, reaching over head, reaching forward. Must be able to lift and and/or carry 55lbs.
