Job Description
Northwest tellers are important members of our retail network team because they often have the most interaction with our customers. They provide excellent customer service by welcoming customers, processing transactions efficiently, resolving problems, providing educational services, and uncovering financial needs for referral to the appropriate line of business. The floating teller position also supports the operational needs of the bank by traveling to various locations and working a flexible schedule.
Essential Functions
- Have open availability to work a flexible schedule that varies weekly, sometimes daily, based on the needs of the Bank
- Travel to bank locations within a specified geographic region, potentially mid-shift with little notice
- Have reliable transportation to facilitate working in multiple locations
- Maintain reliable attendance
- Achieve financial wellness activity goals, such as identifying referral opportunities
- Assist customers with questions, problem resolution, and other needs; proactively engage to understand needs and inform about products/services; refer complex requests to appropriate team members
- Engage and greet customers, taking ownership to resolve issues or concerns
- Balance teller drawer daily and participate in dual control balancing of vault, ATM, and other devices as needed
- Operate with elevated drawer limits, check signing authority, supervisor authority as needed
- Deliver the North(west) star experience and champion financial wellness through exceptional customer service in person, over the phone, and via email

- Complete assigned educational training and self-educate using bank programs and applications
- Maintain general knowledge of office systems, software, bank products, services, and digital offerings
- Adhere to all security and dual control processes
- Participate in branch opening and closing tasks as needed
- Follow compliance, risk, and operational procedures to protect the bank
- Work collaboratively with co-workers, demonstrating respect, professionalism, punctuality, and supporting management
- Work evening hours and weekends as scheduled or necessary
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Establish effective working relationships and participate in problem-solving and decision-making
- Communicate ideas and information clearly and concisely, orally and in writing
- Actively listen to understand and facilitate open exchange of information
- Set goals, develop tracking systems, and use resources effectively
- Make sound decisions based on analysis and good judgment
- Have knowledge of computers and teller systems

Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
Work Experience
- Customer service experience preferred
- Cash handling experience preferred
- Banking and/or retail experience preferred
