Job summary

Securitas USA is seeking a Floating Security Officer for full-time work across Topeka and Lawrence, KS. You will monitor multiple client sites, perform access control, patrol duties, and enforce site regulations while delivering professional customer service.

The position emphasizes de‑escalation, vigilance, and rapid response to incidents, with opportunities for growth and career development within a well-known security provider.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Excellent customer service and team leadership skills needed.

Responsibilities

• Conflict resolution and de-escalation.
• Frequent interactions with client employees and guests.
• Identify and report safety issues or suspicious activity.
• Ensure post orders are followed and rounds completed.
• Provide customer service and information to client’s employees and guests.
• Utilize technology devices during shift.
• Conduct tours of the property.
• Carry out tasks of similar scope as required for assigned site.

Floating Security Officer - Full Time

Primary Locations: Topeka & Lawrence, KS

Wage Range: $14.50-$21.00/HR

The Floating Security Officer helps maintain a safe and secure environment for our clients by actively monitoring the premises, including access control and patrolling a variety of locations. They preserve order while enforcing regulations and directives for our client sites pertaining to personnel, visitors, and the area.

What You Can Expect

• Conflict resolution and de-escalation.
• Frequent interactions with client employees and guests.

Basic Requirements

• 18 years of age or older.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Above average computer / technology skills needed.
• Security, Law Enforcement, or Military experience a plus.
• Excellent customer service and team leadership skills needed.
• Must be able to work independently.
• Must be able to remain calm and professional during stressful situations.
• Must have great attention to detail and remain vigilant throughout shift.
• Must have a professional demeanor.
• Must be able to respond to emergencies with rapid / effective judgment and use appropriate escalation.
• All candidates must be willing to participate in the Company’s pre-employment screening process, including drug screen and background investigation.
• Must be able to work in both Topeka, KS, and Lawrence, KS.
