Job summary

Landmark Preschool in Westport, CT is hiring a floating assistant teacher to support our 2’s, 3’s, 4’s and Fundamentals classrooms and lead the afterschool team. The role runs Monday–Friday, 10:00 am–5:30 pm, during the academic year, with a collaborative team and flexible environment.

You will assist the head teacher with lesson plans, set up materials, supervise safety, participate in group activities, and coordinate with aftercare staff to ensure schedules are followed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• At least 2 years of experience working with children; classroom experience a plus.
• Ability to work and move around with young, active children including bending, kneeling and stretching.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Head Teacher by implementing planned activities and lesson plans.
• Prepare materials and classroom setup for activities and lessons.
• Use positive language and discipline to model good behavior.
• Participate in group activities and support specials.
