Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to float among Lakemoor and satellite locations in Illinois. The role supports pharmacists in compounding, labeling, and distribution of medications, including hazardous drugs and controlled substances.

You will handle billing data entry and inventory tasks under supervision, with travel between clinics. Requirements include a high school diploma and state certification; 18-month window to attain CPhT/ExCPT if not already certified.

Responsibilities

• Assist licensed pharmacist in preparation and distribution of medications.
• Prepare, label, and verify medications including hazardous drugs and controlled substances.
• Support medication distribution, inventory control, and procurement activities.
• Screen calls and route to appropriate personnel.
• Maintain documentation for controlled substances and sterile/nonsterile compounding where applicable.
• Perform nonsterile compounding per USP standards and sterile IV admixture where applicable.
• Ensure proper storage and clearance of medication storage areas.
• Record patient demographics, insurance data, and label generation in the system.
• Travel between Lakemoor and other clinic locations as required.
