Job summary

Boston Medical Center is seeking a Floating Pharmacy Manager to provide operational and leadership support across its Retail and Community Health Center pharmacy operations. The role focuses on workflow optimization, staffing, compliance, and staff development while partnering with pharmacy leadership to ensure consistent practices across locations.

The position requires a PharmD or Bachelor’s in Pharmacy, MA license by hire, and at least 2 years of related pharmacist experience.

Massachusetts license to practice pharmacy by the hire date.

Responsibilities

Provides direct management and operational support across BMC Retail and Community Health Center pharmacy operations.
Manages workflow, monitors the quality and timely completion of work, and supports adherence to departmental processes and protocols.
Reviews operational results, identifies problem areas, and works with pharmacy management to implement changes to meet departmental goals.
Manages pharmacist staffing, scheduling, timekeeping, and workforce utilization across supported Retail and Community Health Center pharmacy operations.
Reviews pharmacist and technician hours, overtime, productivity, and staffing variances and approves adjustments.
Supports regulatory compliance and quality oversight via self-inspections, audits, monitoring, and follow-up on regulatory requirements.
Coordinates and supports pharmacy staff training, education, and development across outpatient and CHC teams.
Supports new employee training, team huddles, performance evaluations, and other staff development activities.
Provides feedback to promote consistent operations across areas within the role’s scope.
Supports pharmacy programs and departmental initiatives across outpatient and CHC operations.
Monitors programs and performance measures, assists with reports, and coordinates follow-up.
Provides on-site workflow support and covers essential management during absences of primary management.
Participates in departmental projects supporting goals of Outpatient Pharmacy and Boston Medical Center.
