Job summary

Colonial School District in New Castle, Delaware is seeking a Floating Paraeducator for a temporary 10-month assignment ending June 30, 2027. The paraeducator will assist teachers, support students both remotely and in person, and help deliver instruction across multiple buildings within the district.

Required is a high school diploma or GED with eligibility for a Title 1 Paraprofessional Permit. The role includes lifting up to 50 lbs, Level 1 training by June 1, and regular attendance

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Eligible for or hold Title 1 Paraprofessional Permit.
• Experience with students in classroom setting preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Complete Level 1 training by June 1 of the contract year.
• Regular attendance is essential.

Responsibilities

• Support students remotely and in person as needed.
• Assist with IEP implementation after training.
• Reinforce learning materials with individuals or groups.
• Maintain confidentiality of student information.
• Prepare environment and materials for daily activities.
• Assist with safe student movement and supervision.
• Attend parent conferences and IEP meetings as appropriate.
• Accompany students to community settings for instruction.
