Midway Independent School District is seeking an Instructional Assistant (float) to support classrooms when the regular teacher is absent. You will provide instruction to students under the direction of the assigned teacher, help keep an organized learning space, and assist with materials and records.

This non-exempt role requires a high school diploma or GED and a valid Texas educational aide certificate, with the ability to work with children and communicate effectively in a school setting.

Qualifications

• Ability to assist in instructing reading, writing, and mathematics.
• Ability to work well with children.
• Ability to communicate effectively.

Responsabilités

• Provide instruction to students under the direction of assigned teacher or assigned program; work with individual students or small groups.
• Help maintain a neat and orderly instructional environment.
• Help with inventory, care, and maintenance of equipment and supplies.
• Help teachers keep administrative records and prepare required reports.
• Help manage behavior of students; intervene in crisis situations and restraining disruptive or dangerous students as needed.
