• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid Texas educational aide certificate required.
• Associate’s degree or two years of college study, or regional assessment per Region XII.

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction to students under the direction of assigned teacher or program; work with individuals or small groups.
• Assist teacher in preparing instructional materials and classroom displays.
• Assist teacher in implementing instructional strategies and concepts to address student needs.
• Assist with administration and scoring of objective tests or assignments.
• Help maintain neat and orderly instructional environment.
• Help with inventory, care, and maintenance of equipment and supplies.
• Help teacher keep administrative records and prepare required reports.
• Provide assistance to substitute teachers.
• Supervise students during the school day in various areas (lunchroom, bus, playground).
• Keep teacher/supervisor informed of special needs or problems of individual students.
