Job summary

Elior North America is seeking a Floating Chef for the Healthcare Foodservice team serving the greater Pittsburgh area. You will coordinate and prepare meals for multiple locations, supporting dining options and ensuring quality service.

Qualifications

• At least two years’ experience in food service.
• Ability to travel up to 75% of the year.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• At least one year in a supervisory role (nice-to-have).
• Associate’s degree or higher (nice-to-have).

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct, and coordinate activities of the food service department to provide outstanding dining options in assigned units.
• Enforce company policies on menu formation, food preparation, distribution, budgeting, sanitation, safety, and staffing.
• Ensure proper temperature, portioning, and quality of meals.

The Role at a glance:

We are looking to add an experienced, skilled Floating Chef to our Healthcare Foodservice team in the greater Pittsburgh Metro area. As a food service support, you will have the opportunity to help coordinate and prepare food for meal service in a variety of assigned locations.

Home site to be determined following interview process.

What you'll be doing:

• Assisting with planning, directing, organizing, and coordinating the activities of the food service department to provide outstanding dining options to each assigned unit.
• Helping to enforce company policies and procedures to provide administrative direction for menu formation; food preparation, distribution, and service; budgeting and purchasing; sanitation standards; safety practices; and staffing and staff development.
• Ensuring proper temperature, portioning, and quality of meals.
• Directly preparing meals as needed.
• Other tasks as assigned.

What we're looking for:

Must-haves:

• At least two years’ experience in food service.
• Ability to travel up to 75% of the year.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.

Nice-to-haves:

• At least one years’ experience in a supervisory role.
• Associate’s degree or higher.
