Job summary

Elior North America is seeking a Floating Chef to support its Healthcare Foodservice team in the greater Pittsburgh Metro area. You will coordinate and prepare meals across multiple locations, with home site determined after interview.

The role requires at least two years of food service experience, strong leadership and communication skills, and the ability to travel up to 75%. A supervisory background and an associate degree or higher are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist with planning, directing, organizing, and coordinating the activities of the food service department to provide outstanding dining options to each assigned unit.
• Help enforce company policies and procedures for menu formation, food prep, distribution, budgeting, sanitation, safety, and staffing.
• Ensure proper temperature, portioning, and quality of meals; directly prepare meals as needed.
• Perform other tasks as assigned.

The Role at a glance:

We are looking to add an experienced, skilled Floating Chef to our Healthcare Foodservice team in the greater Pittsburgh Metro area. As a food service support, you will have the opportunity to help coordinate and prepare food for meal service in a variety of assigned locations.

Home site to be determined following interview process.

What you'll be doing:

• Assisting with planning, directing, organizing, and coordinating the activities of the food service department to provide outstanding dining options to each assigned unit.
• Helping to enforce company policies and procedures to provide administrative direction for menu formation; food preparation, distribution, and service; budgeting and purchasing; sanitation standards; safety practices; and staffing and staff development.
• Ensuring proper temperature, portioning, and quality of meals.
• Directly preparing meals as needed.
• Other tasks as assigned.

What we’re looking for:

Must-haves:

• At least two years’ experience in food service.
• Ability to travel up to 75% of the year.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.

Nice-to-haves:

• At least one years’ experience in a supervisory role.
• Associate’s degree or higher.
