Job summary

Options for Learning seeks a dedicated floater associate teacher to support teaching staff across Walnut and nearby areas. You will implement curriculum, supervise children, and help maintain a safe, nurturing environment for both Early Learning and School-age programs.

You’ll collaborate with teachers, plan activities, and assist with recruiting parents and volunteers. Assignments vary by site and may include flexible hours to meet program needs.

Qualifications

• Ability to implement curriculum and supervise children
• Experience with classroom activities and learning centers

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement classroom activities based on curriculum
• Supervise and engage children in a positive manner
• Develop and maintain learning centers reflecting children's interests
• Provide diverse experiences for active learning
• Maintain a safe environment
• Create and implement lesson plans
• Supervise assistant teachers
• Support language development and language diversity
• Recruit, train and supervise parents and volunteers
• Collaborate with teachers on program planning
• Maintain clean and sanitary facilities
• Coordinate with school administration and partners
• Communicate with family service specialist about enrollment and needs
• Complete paperwork accurately and on time
• Plan or participate in parent meetings
• Adhere to program policies and procedures
• Support the teacher and education supervisor as needed
• Collaborate with team
• Participate in annual training
• Perform other duties as assigned
