Requirements include an Associate degree in child development, site supervisor or teacher permit (enrolled in pathway), CPR/First Aid certification, health/TB clearance, and background checks.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in child development or related field.
• Site supervisor permit OR teacher permit, enrolled in pathway program.
• Three semester units in administration with a passing grade (C or better).
• CPR and pediatric first aid certification acceptable to licensing.
• Health screening and TB clearance renewed as required.
• Immunization for TDap, MMR, whooping cough, influenza.
• Clear live scan background screening.
• Mandated reporter training completed.
• English communication skills (written & spoken).
• California driver’s license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement classroom activities based on program curriculum.
• Prepare and implement an individual educational plan for each child.
• Supervise and engage children in a positive manner.
• Develop and maintain learning centers reflecting children’s interests.
• Provide active, safe, and well-supervised environment.
• Uphold policies and procedures; promote language diversity.
• Coordinate monthly site staff meetings and team communication.
• Supervise associate and assistant teachers in the classroom.
• Assist the education supervisor and perform other duties as assigned.
