Job summary

The YMCA of the North Shore seeks a Floating Director of Early Learning to provide hands-on leadership and support across multiple Early Learning centers. You’ll step in during leadership absences, vacancies, or transitions to maintain high-quality care, support staff, and ensure licensing compliance.

Responsibilities include guiding classroom routines, coaching educators, and coordinating with Directors to ensure seamless transitions while maintaining safety and family engagement across

Qualifications

• Must meet MA EEC and NH licensing requirements for a Director.
• Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education preferred.
• Strong communication, leadership and problem‑solving skills.
• Experience supervising, evaluating, and supporting staff.
• Knowledge of child growth from infancy through kindergarten.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day leadership at assigned centers to maintain safe, stable operations.
• Support routines, curriculum implementation and developmentally appropriate practices.
• Coach, observe and give feedback to educators, and assist with staff development.
• Coordinate transitions with permanent Directors to ensure continuity.
• Maintain licensing compliance and respond to safety/ licensing concerns.
• Engage families and collaborate with Directors, HR and support teams.
