Magical Beginnings in Leominster seeks a Floating Assistant Teacher to support multiple classrooms and provide consistent, high-quality care for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers. The role offers weekday hours, classroom coverage, and opportunities to collaborate with experienced staff.

Qualifications

• EEC Teacher Certification, CDA, or equivalent degree and experience preferred
• Daycare experience in a center-based or private school setting preferred
• Ability to lift up to 50lbs
• Stand up to 90% of the workday
• Availability to work Monday through Friday with flexibility to work from 7:00AM-5:00PM
• Attentiveness and a team-focused mindset
• Spend extended periods of time on the floor with the children

Responsibilities

• Provide substitute coverage when Teachers are either out sick, completing planning time, in need of a bathroom break, lunch break, or any other coverage throughout the day.
• Assist Classroom Teachers with opening/closing routines and classroom prep.
• Provide classroom assistance to support teachers with lesson materials and activities.
• Supervise outdoor time and help with bathroom needs and diapering.
• Follow the daily classroom schedule and maintain cleanliness throughout the day.
• Encourage children's participation with age-appropriate activities.
• Maintain EEC professional development hours and PQ registry.
• Attend monthly staff meetings and contribute to a positive learning environment.
• Establish and maintain positive relationships with students and parents.
