Job summary

A Child's Place of McHenry is a licensed childcare center seeking Floater Teachers to support infants through PreK. The role requires a high school diploma or GED and the ability to pass background checks. Prior childcare experience is a plus. This full-time position runs Monday through Friday, 9am–6pm.

Compensation ranges from $18.00 to $20.00 per hour, depending on education and experience. Benefits include medical, dental, vision insurance, 401k with match, and paid trainings.

Responsibilities

• Assist the lead teacher with all aspects of the classroom in a manner consistent with the center's philosophy and goals.

• Take direction, accept feedback, and make improvements for program quality.
• Create and maintain a clean and safe environment for all children.
• Establish a professional rapport with families to provide quality care.
• Demonstrate physical ability to work around small children and lift up to 40 lbs.

To be QUALIFIED for this position, we require a high school diploma OR GED and the ability to pass all background checks. A plus if you have previous childcare experience!

Required Shift: Full-time, Mon-Fri, 9am-6pm

Compensation: $18.00 - $20.00/hour, based on education and experience

Main Job Responsibilities

• Assist the lead teacher with all aspects of the classroom in a manner consistent with the philosophy and goals of the center.


• Implement activities that encourage each child’s growth in the areas of emotion, social, cognitive, creative, and physical development.


• Take direction, accept constructive criticism, and feedback, and make improvements and changes as necessary for the betterment of the quality of the program.


• Create and maintain an environment that is clean and safe for all children.


• Establishing a professional level of rapport with each family to provide quality care for the children.


• Physical ability to work around small children including sitting, standing, walking, running, and climbing stairs.


• Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs. and fulfill all physical requirements of the role.
