Job summary

Chesapeake Montessori, a licensed childcare center, is seeking Floaters/Aides to support in all age groups. The role involves assisting lead teachers, implementing activities, and maintaining a clean, safe classroom.

Qualifications include a high school diploma and the ability to pass background checks; prior childcare experience is a plus. Working hours are Monday to Friday, 8:30am–5:30pm, with competitive pay.

Responsibilities

• Assist the lead teacher with all aspects of the classroom in a manner consistent with the center’s philosophy and goals.

• Accept direction, feedback, and make improvements for the program’s quality.
• Create and maintain a clean and safe environment for all children.
• Establish professional rapport with families to provide quality care.
• Physically capable of working around young children and lifting up to 40 lbs.

To be QUALIFIED for this position, we require a high school diploma, and the ability to pass all background checks. A plus if you have previous childcare experience!

Required Shift: Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 5:30pm

Compensation: $16-17/hr, based on education and experience

Main Job Responsibilities:

• Assist the lead teacher with all aspects of the classroom in a manner consistent with the philosophy and goals of the center.
• Implement activities that encourage each child’s growth in the areas of emotion, social, cognitive, creative, and physical development.
• Take direction, accept constructive criticism, and feedback, and make improvements and changes as necessary for the betterment of the quality of the program.
• Create and maintain an environment that is clean and safe for all children.
• Establishing a professional level of rapport with each family to provide quality care for the children.
• Physical ability to work around small children including sitting, standing, walking, running, and climbing stairs.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs. and fulfill all physical requirements of the role.
