Job summary

Grand Avenue Preschool and Daycare in Burr Ridge is seeking a Floater and Assistant Teacher to support our Toddler classroom. The qualified candidate will have a high school diploma or GED and the ability to pass all background checks, plus prior childcare experience.

Shift is Monday to Friday, full-time, 8am-5pm or 9am-6pm, with a pay rate of $17–$20 per hour based on education and experience. We offer competitive pay, benefits, and a supportive, family-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist the lead teacher with all aspects of the classroom in a manner consistent with the philosophy and goals of the center.
• Implement activities that encourage each child’s growth in the areas of emotion, social, cognitive, creative, and physical development.
• Take direction, accept constructive criticism, and feedback, and make improvements and changes as necessary for the betterment of the quality of the program.
• Create and maintain an environment that is clean and safe for all children.
• Establishing a professional level of rapport with each family to provide quality care for the children.
• Physical ability to work around small children including sitting, standing, walking, running, and climbing stairs.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs. and fulfill all physical requirements of the role.
