Job summary

Covenant House Illinois is seeking a Floater Shift Supervisor to provide on-site supervisory coverage across AM, PM, overnight, weekend, and holiday shifts. You will oversee Youth Engagement Specialists, coordinate with the Director of Residential Services, and ensure high-quality service delivery, safety, and compliance for youth participants.

Qualifications

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in social services.
• 3+ years of relevant experience with youth housing instability.
• 1–2 years of supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage residential and Drop-In Program activities; assign staff to shifts to meet youth needs.
• Provide direct staff coverage during shifts and participate in on-call rotation.
• Attend department management meetings and disseminate information to staff.
• Inform Program Manager and Director of any incidents affecting youth safety or program operation.
• Facilitate daily shift transition meetings and coordinate with leadership on needs and updates.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety of the space; report maintenance or safety needs and support emergency protocols.
• Ensure compliance with medication policies and incident reporting per policy.
• Communicate with case managers regarding youth progress and concerns related to care.
• Support planning of team-building activities, life skills workshops, and on-site youth engagements.
• Encourage youth input for programming and relay feedback to leadership.
• Support youth involvement in individual case plans and aid achievement of goals.
• Ensure quality documentation and record-keeping by YES staff (ETO touchpoints, incidents, etc.).
• Perform other duties as assigned.
