Job summary

Brains & Motion Education is seeking a Floater Instructor to support after-school programs across designated sites in Newport Mesa, CA. The role focuses on delivering engaging STEAM and sports activities and providing mentorship to students in grades K–8.

Ideal candidates have 1–2 years in STEAM, arts, or sports, strong classroom management, and the ability to travel between program locations. This part-time position pays $25 per hour and offers flexible scheduling.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of experience in STEAM, Arts, or Sports.
• Previous teaching or coaching experience (Preferred).
• Excellent classroom management and the ability to connect with students from kindergarten to 8th grade.
• Flexibility to travel between program locations; reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license or State ID required.
• Ability to pass a background check.

Responsibilities

• Lead STEAM and Sports activities, guiding students to explore, create, and grow their skills.
• Teach the fundamentals of various activities, from beginner to advanced, ensuring each student can progress at their own pace.
• Foster a collaborative, positive environment that promotes teamwork, sportsmanship, and personal growth.
• Deliver BAM! STEAM/Sports programs, including Coding (Python & Scratch), Robotics, Digital Arts, Game Design, Creative Writing, Soccer, Basketball, Tennis, Flag Football, and more.
• Serve as a substitute instructor at different program locations as needed.
• Assist with program inventory, preparation, and other assigned tasks when not actively teaching.
