Job summary

Waypoint offers a part-time Assistant Childcare Teacher Floater role at Little Dolphin School in Westbrook or Scarborough. You will work with Lead Teacher to provide a safe, engaging classroom for infants to preschoolers, following program guidelines and licensing requirements.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of child development and developmentally appropriate activities.
• Ability to relate with joy, care, compassion, and sensitivity to children.
• Emotional maturity and sound decision-making skills.
• Strong judgement in challenging or crisis situations.

Responsibilities

• Implement a schedule, routine, and activities that encourage child development, social growth, and independence.
• Ensure the classroom is safe, clean, orderly, and ready for learning.
• Provide active supervision of children indoors and outdoors, including meals and transitions.
• Assist children with daily living skills such as toileting, handwashing, dressing, and feeding.
• Partner with Lead Teacher in developing and implementing weekly lesson plans.
• Maintain a positive, collaborative learning environment and professional boundaries with families.
