Tiny Town Childcare & Learning Center - Kent and Painesville is seeking a Float Teacher/Closer to support toddler through school-age rooms and help close the center each day. The role emphasizes calm, safe interactions, consistent routines, and adherence to licensing standards.

You will move between classrooms, engage children, and coordinate with staff to ensure a smooth end of day closing process.

Qualifications

• Patient, playful, and comfortable with toddlers and young preschoolers.

Responsibilities

• Follow daily schedules and support transitions (snack, bathroom, outside, end-of-day routines).
• Build positive relationships with children and families.
• Coordinate with staff and leadership to ensure smooth classroom coverage.
• As the closer, tidy classrooms and complete end-of-day cleaning to secure the building.
• Follow all state licensing rules, center policies, and safety expectations.

Position Overview

The Float Teacher/Closer supports multiple classrooms throughout the day, helping teachers maintain a smooth, safe, and engaging environment. As the day winds down, this role transitions into the center closer—keeping routines consistent, helping children finish their day calmly, and ensuring the building is properly closed according to licensing standards.

What You’ll Do

• Jump into toddler, preschool, and school‑age rooms as needed to support teachers
• Play, interact, and engage with children at their level—floor play, sensory activities, outdoor time, and simple routines
• Help maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment
• Follow daily schedules and support transitions (snack, bathroom, outside, end‑of‑day routines)
• Build positive relationships with children and families
• Communicate with staff and leadership to ensure smooth classroom coverage
• As the closer, tidy classrooms, complete end‑of‑day cleaning tasks, and secure the building
• Follow all state licensing rules, center policies, and safety expectations
