Job summary

CHRISTUS Health in Alamogordo, NM seeks a competent registered nurse to provide independent, patient-centered care in the med-surg/ED setting. You will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care according to treatment plans and participate in interdisciplinary teamwork.

You will administer medications, monitor responses, document history and care, educate patients and families, and ensure safety and quality in accordance with ANA standards and CHRISTUS policies.

Qualifications

• BSN preferred.
• 2 years of combined experience required in MedSurg and either Critical Care or Emergency Department.
• BLS required.

Responsibilities

• Provides nursing care using the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
• Administers medications and treatments per protocol; monitors for side-effects and effectiveness.
• Documents patient history, symptoms, medication, and care provided.
• Makes appropriate assignments and delegates to other care providers as needed.
• Addresses psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families within practice level.
• Collaborates with the healthcare team to ensure safe, quality patient care.
