Job summary

CHRISTUS Health in Alamogordo, NM is seeking a part-time Registered Nurse to perform independent nursing care in a clinical setting. The role requires applying the nursing process, assessing patients, planning interventions, and evaluating outcomes with a focus on patient education.

The ideal candidate has a BSN (preferred) and at least 1 year of related nursing experience, plus current BLS and RN licensure in the state. ACLS certification is required within policy timeframes.

Qualifications

• BSN preferred.
• 1 year of experience in the related nursing specialty preferred.
• All newly hired experienced RNs must attend New Nurses Orientation within the first 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Meets expectations of the applicable OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
• Provides nursing care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention and evaluation for assigned patients.
• Addresses complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families in accordance with practice level.
• Uses appropriate protocol to administer medications and treatments; monitors for side-effects and effectiveness.
• Documents patient history, symptoms, medication, and care given.
• Provides education to patients, family members and/or care givers; identifies issues and resources.
