Job summary

Barnes-Jewish Hospital is seeking a Clinical Nurse Float Pool RN to provide versatile, high-quality care across 65+ inpatient units. This full-time role uses a 12-hour day shift (7:00 AM–7:30 PM) with a $15/hour float differential and applicable shift differentials.

The float pool offers broad exposure to diverse patient populations and specialties, with opportunities for ongoing learning, professional growth, and career advancement through BJC resources.

Qualifications

• Current RN license is required.
• Minimum 2 years of recent acute care Medical-Surgical nursing experience.
• Strong clinical judgment, adaptability, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently in a variety of clinical settings.
• 2 years of recent ICU/Critical Care experience (preferred).
• BSN or currently enrolled in a BSN program (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Promotes patient and family centered care in a healing environment.
• Educates patients and their families on managing illness, treatment, and post care.
• Participates in activities that promote safety, quality and regulatory compliance.
• Develops, implements, and documents individual plans of care with defined goals.
• Proactively plans and communicates the plan of care across the continuum.
• Uses nursing skills to assess and evaluate physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs.
• Safety-sensitive position; require alertness and safe practice at all times.
