Job summary

St. Luke’s Health–Brazosport Hospital in Lake Jackson, TX is seeking a Registered Nurse to join our Float/Flex Team, delivering compassionate, high-quality care that improves patient recovery.

You will perform comprehensive assessments and implement individualized care plans, contributing to optimal outcomes in a dynamic environment. A valid TX RN license and at least one year of experience are required, along with a Basic Life Support certification.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Nursing and at least 1 year of RN experience.
• Registered Nurse license for TX at hire.
• Basic Life Support (CPR) certification within 14 days.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes the nursing process to provide cost effective, quality, patient-focused care and collects social, psychological, developmental and spiritual data from patients and families.
• Performs ongoing assessment, formulates nursing diagnoses and goals, plans interventions, and evaluates outcomes.
• Documents in patient and unit records per health system standards to meet legal and quality requirements.
• Provides teaching to patients and families on Pain Management, Nutrition, Skin Integrity, Fall prevention, Diabetes, Disease Process, Smoking Cessation, and Discharge instructions.
• Demonstrates commitment to patient, hospital, community, and nursing goals with ethical decision-making and patient safety.
• Engages in research activities and collaborates with Outcomes managers and department.
