St. Luke's Health-Brazosport Hospital, part of CommonSpirit Health, seeks an experienced RN to join our Float/Flex Team in Lake Jackson, TX. You will provide patient-centered care, perform assessments, and implement comprehensive care plans in a fast-paced hospital setting.

The position requires an Associate of Science in Nursing with at least 1 year of RN experience, Texas RN license, CPR, ACLS, and Trauma certification within stated timelines. Bachelor’s degree in nursing is preferred at hire.

Qualifications

  • Associates of Science Nursing and at least one year of RN experience.
  • Registered Nurse license for TX; CPR, ACLS and Trauma Certification milestones.
  • Proven competence in standard RN performance expectations.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality, patient-centered nursing care as part of a Float/Flex team.
  • Perform assessments, implement care plans, and document in patient records.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes.
  • Provide patient and family education on pain, nutrition, skin integrity, fall prevention, and discharge.
  • Contribute to cost containment, confidentiality, ethics, and patient safety.

  • Utilizes the nursing process to ensure appropriate patient care is provided in a cost effective, quality driven, and patient focused manner. Collects pertinent social, psychological, developmental and spiritual data from the patient, significant others and other health care team members.
  • Performs as ongoing assessment, formulates nursing diagnosis and goals, plans appropriate interventions, and evaluates the outcome of the interventions.
  • Consistently documents in the patient and unit records according to written health system standards of care in order to meet legal and quality patient care requirements.
  • Provides appropriate teaching and information to patients and families including information on Pain Management, Nutrition, Skin Integrity, Fall prevention, Diabetes, Disease Process, Smoking Cessation, and Discharge instructions
  • Demonstrates commitment to the goals and values of the patient, Hospital, community and nursing profession through cost containment measures, maintaining confidentiality, appropriate ethical decision -making, and ensuring patient safety.
  • Uses interventions substantiated by research as appropriate in the patient population, Participates in research activities, identifies opportunities for research, and collaborates with the Outcomes managers and department.
Job Requirements

Required

  • Associates Of Science Nursing and At least one (1) year of RN experience
  • Demonstrated competence in Registered Nurse I performance expectations or meets experience requirements upon hire
  • Registered Nurse: TX, upon hire and
  • Basic Life Support - CPR, within 14 - days
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support, within 6 - months and
  • Trauma Nurse Core Course, within 12 - months
Preferred
  • Bachelors Of Nursing, upon hire
