Job summary

Suncoast Hospice, part of Empath Health, seeks a caring Hospice Care Center Registered Nurse for our Care Center in Pinellas and Hillsborough counties. The RN provides compassionate hospice care to terminally ill patients and families in an inpatient setting, coordinating care and guiding LPNs and aides.

Responsibilities include assessing patient needs, symptom management, education and support, with a day shift 8a-8p and every other weekend; valid Florida RN license and at least 1 year bedside

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year bedside nursing experience.
• Valid Florida RN license to practice.
• 1 year active nursing experience; terminally ill care preferred; acute/post-acute setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Identify and coordinate patient/family needs; provide preventive and supportive care for terminally ill patient/family unit.
• Utilize assessment, intervention and teaching to maximize patient comfort and quality of life for patient/family.
• Oversee LPNs and aides delivering care in the GIP environment; RN reports to Care Center Manager.

Suncoast Hospice, a member of Empath Health is seeking a caring and motivated Hospice Care Center Registered Nurse to work with us at our Care Center in Pinellas and Hillsborough county while providing exceptional care. The Care Center RN provides compassionate hospice care to terminally ill patients and their families in an inpatient setting. Responsibilities include assessing patient needs, coordinating care, managing symptoms, providing education and support, and overseeing LPNs and aides. Schedule: Day shift 8a-8p every other weekend

What you'll Do:

• is responsible for identifying and coordinating patient/family needs and for providing preventive and supportive care to the terminally ill patient/family unit.
• utilizes assessment, intervention and teaching skills to maximize patient comfort and to enhance the quality of life to the patient/family unit.
• provides oversight and supervision of the LPN and/or aide for the delivery of patient care in the GIP environment. The RN reports to Patient/Family Care Coordinator/Care Center Manager.

Required to float if needed.

What You'll Need

• Position Requirements minimum of 1 year recent bedside nursing
• Valid Florida license as a Registered Nurse
• Minimum of 1 year of current active nursing experience; with experience in caring for terminally ill patients or those with life threatening illnesses preferred; prefer one (1) year experience in an acute or post acute care setting.
