Job summary

Suncoast Hospice, a member of Empath Health, seeks a caring Hospice Care Center Registered Nurse to deliver compassionate end-of-life care at our Care Center. Schedule: Day shift 8a-8p, every other weekend.

You will coordinate patient/family needs, educate families, and supervise LPN/aide staff under the Care Center Manager. Minimum 1 year bedside nursing and Florida RN licensure are required; hospital or hospice experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of recent bedside nursing.
• Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent; 6 months to 1 year related experience or training; or equivalent combination.

Responsibilities

• Identify and coordinate patient/family needs; provide preventive and supportive care to terminally ill patient/family unit.
• Use assessment, intervention and teaching skills to maximize patient comfort and quality of life.
• Provide oversight and supervision of the LPN/aide for delivery of patient care; RN reports to Care Center Manager.

Suncoast Hospice, a member of Empath Health is seeking a caring and motivated Hospice Care Center Registered Nurse to work with us at our Care Center while providing exceptional care.

Schedule: Day shift 8a-8p every other weekend

What you’ll Do:

• is responsible for identifying and coordinating patient/family needs and for providing preventive and supportive care to the terminally ill patient/family unit.
• utilizes assessment, intervention and teaching skills to maximize patient comfort and to enhance the quality of life to the patient/family unit.
• provides oversight and supervision of the LPN and/or aide for the delivery of patient care in the GIP environment. The RN reports to Patient/Family Care Coordinator/Care Center Manager.

Required to float if needed.

What You’ll Need

Position Requirements minimum of 1 year recent bedside nursing

Education and/or Experience: Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; Minimum of or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Licensure:
• Valid Florida license as a Registered Nurse
• Valid Florida State Driver’s License
• Minimum of 1 year of current active nursing experience; with experience in caring for terminally ill patients or those with life threatening illnesses preferred; prefer one (1) year experience in an acute or post acute care setting.
