Job summary

Ebenezer is seeking a Float Resident Assistant to join our corporate float nursing team, providing personal care and health-related services across Ebenezer Assisted Living communities. The role is on-call/casual with day, evening, and overnight shifts, including weekend and holiday requirements.

You will support residents with daily activities, mobility, and basic health monitoring under RN direction. Qualifications include being at least 18 years old, and comfort with using technology.

Qualifications

• Requires ability to use computers, handheld devices, cell phones, and fax machines.
• Must be at least 18 years old.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with personal cares (bathing, dressing, feeding, toileting).
• Support with mobility and transfers using lifts.
• Monitor health indicators under RN direction (blood pressure, temperature, glucose).
• Administer medications under RN supervision as directed.
• Assist with meal service and dining room support.
• Observe residents and report changes to staff.
• Respond to emergencies and follow safety procedures.

Job Overview

Ebenezer is looking for a Float Resident Assistant to join our corporate float nursing team with the Ebenezer corporate office! This position floats to assigned Ebenezer Assisted Living communities to provide personal care and designated health-related services to enhance and/or maintain the residents' physical and emotional wellbeing.

This Float caregiver schedule includes:

• On Call/Casual
• Day, Evening and Overnight (NOC) shifts available
• To maintain Casual status, employees must be willing to be available to work a minimum of three (3) shifts per month (two shifts must be weekend shifts) and one (1) Holiday shift per year. The weekend starts with the beginning of the night shift on Friday and ends with the beginning of the night shift on Sunday

Responsibilities

• Assists residents with personal cares including but not limited to:
• Bathing/showering
• Foot and fingernail care
• Shaving
• Dressing
• Assistance with use of hearing aids and/or glasses
• Hair care
• Feeding
• Toileting
• Escorts
• 1-2 person transfers and use of mechanical lift
• Provides health-related services as directed:
• Assists with treatments per individualized care plan under the direction of the Registered Nurse. (includes blood glucose monitoring)
• Administers medication or assists with this under the direction of the Registered Nurse (includes insulin injections).
• Takes and records temperature, blood pressure, pulse and respiration under the direction of the Registered Nurse.
• Performs specified home services:
• Performs laundry service per schedule.
• Follows cleaning schedule for the shift worked.
• Delivers meal trays.
• Assists with meal service in dining room.
• Assists with preparing for and/or facilitating resident social and recreational activities as assigned and as requested.
• Observes residents and reports status to appropriate staff.
• Notifies appropriate staff of changes in physical and/or emotional conditions such as change in attitude or mood, loss of appetite, change in weight.
• Serves as a mandated reporter and reports any concerns regarding potential mistreatment
• Offers pertinent observations and input.
• Responds appropriately to resident and building emergencies.

• 1-3 years of previous experience
