Planned Parenthood of the Pacific Southwest is looking for a Float RN for 16 hours/week at various locations including Oakland and San Jose. Responsibilities involve patient triage, preparation for in-clinic abortion services, and providing comprehensive care in reproductive health.
The ideal candidate must be a graduate of an accredited Nursing Program, possess a current CA State RN license, and have strong communication skills. Flexibility and ability to travel are required.
0.4 FTE | 16 hrs/week
On-site: Wed. & Fri.
Travel required to: San Jose, North Stockton, and Sacramento
Hiring range: $49–$53/hour
Travels to PPMM locations as required.
Responsible for assuring non-licensed staff are qualified in performing back office/lab skills and achieve core competency levels on an annual basis.
Prepares recovery room for all in clinic abortion services.
Assess post-operative patients for pain and bleeding control and early detection of complications.
Follows standardized procedures for the following patient visits: hormonal contraception, Emergency Contraception (EC), and Sexually Transmitted Infection (STI) screening.
Provides patient education, counseling, lab work and ultrasound for medication abortions.
Accepts and signs-off GC/CT, pap and other designated lab reports from clinician’s PAQs.
Evaluates and develops plan for follow up.
Provides advice/triage services to both reproductive health and primary care patients.

Current experience using computer and mouse; experience using a Microsoft Windows based program and willing to learn new computer skills; willingness to work flexible hours and locations; valid driver’s license and ability to travel throughout the assigned region on a weekly basis; ability to communicate effectively.
