Job summary

Craig Hospital is hiring a Float Registered Nurse (RN) to provide compassionate care for patients with SCI, TBI, and other neurological conditions. You will collaborate with physicians, therapists, case managers, and families in an interdisciplinary setting to deliver evidence-informed care.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year bedside RN experience required.
• Experience in neuroscience, acute med-surg, or rehabilitation strongly desired.
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program; Colorado RN license and BLS required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, effective, and compassionate nursing care aligned with standards and ethics.
• Perform comprehensive assessments and develop care plans with the interdisciplinary team.
• Educate patients and families on care plans, goals, and self-management.
• Coordinate care with team members to ensure smooth transitions and continuity.
• Administer medications safely and monitor efficacy and adverse effects.
• Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes in a timely manner.
• Apply infection prevention principles and prioritize patient safety.
• Supervise and delegate to unlicensed staff and students as appropriate.
• Support orientation of new staff and participate in precepting when assigned.
• Engage in Shared Governance, quality improvement, and professional development.

POSITION SUMMARY

As a Craig RN, you’ll collaborate closely with physicians, therapists, case managers, and families to ensure holistic, individualized patient care. You’ll not only manage complex clinical needs but also educate and empower patients toward independence and long-term wellness.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Deliver safe, effective, and compassionate care aligned with Craig’s standards and the ANA Code of Ethics
• Perform comprehensive assessments and develop individualized care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team
• Educate patients and families on care plans, goals, and long-term self-management techniques
• Coordinate care with team members across disciplines, ensuring smooth transitions and continuity
• Safely administer medications and monitor for efficacy and adverse effects
• Document all assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately and in a timely manner
• Apply principles of infection prevention and patient safety to every interaction
• Supervise and delegate to unlicensed staff and students as appropriate
• Support orientation of new staff and participate in precepting when assigned
• Actively participate in Shared Governance, quality improvement initiatives, and professional development activities
• Contribute to a supportive, respectful, and team-oriented unit culture

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Licensure & Certification

• Current Colorado RN license
• BLS certification required
• ACLS and relevant specialty certification (CNRN or CRRN) preferred

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program required
• BSN required within 18 months of hire (CCNE or NLNAC- accredited program preferred)

Experience

• Minimum of 1 year of bedside RN experience Required
• Experience in neuroscience, acute med-surg, or rehabilitation strongly desired

Salary Range: $35.17/ Hour- $50.64/ Hour plus 10% Float Differential

Evenings: $3.50/ Hour

Nights: $5.00/ Hour

Weekend: $3.00/ Hour
