Qualifications

  • Current Colorado RN license; required
  • BLS certification from the American Heart Association; required
  • ACLS and CNRN or CRRN; preferred
  • BSN within 18 months of hire; preferred
  • 1+ year RN experience preferred
  • Experience in neuroscience, acute med-surg, or rehabilitation desired

Responsibilities

  • Deliver safe, effective, and compassionate care aligned with Craig’s standards and the ANA Code of Ethics
  • Perform comprehensive assessments and develop individualized care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team
  • Educate patients and families on care plans, goals, and long-term self-management techniques
  • Coordinate care with team members across disciplines, ensuring smooth transitions and continuity
  • Safely administer medications and monitor for efficacy and adverse effects
  • Document all assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately and in a timely manner
  • Apply principles of infection prevention and patient safety to every interaction
  • Supervise and delegate to unlicensed staff and students as appropriate
  • Support orientation of new staff and participate in precepting when assigned
  • Actively participate in Shared Governance, quality improvement initiatives, and professional development activities
  • Contribute to a supportive, respectful, and team-oriented unit culture

Registered Nurse (RN) — Spinal Cord Injury and Brain Injury Patients
Compassionate Care | Collaborative Practice | Neuro & Rehab Specialty Nursing
Location: 3425 S Clarkson St, Englewood, CO 80113
Shift: Nights; 1830-0700 (6:30 pm - 7:00 am MST); Full-time opportunity for 3 days/week, 12-hour shifts (.9 FTE, 72 hours per pay period)
Compensation: $36.93/ hour — $53.18/hour; plus applicable shift differentials for evenings and weekends

Position Summary

  • Join Our Specialized Neuro-Rehabilitation Teams!

Join our specialized neuro-rehabilitation units (SCI and TBI) where you will make a profound impact on the lives of patients recovering from complex spinal cord and brain injuries. As a vital member of our team, you will care for patients with paraplegia, tetraplegia, traumatic brain injuries, and other complex neurological conditions in an environment dedicated to restoring hope and independence.

Advanced Spinal Cord Injury Care (SCI)

  • Primary Population: Focus heavily on traumatic spinal cord injuries, including paraplegia and tetraplegia.
  • Diverse Diagnoses: Manage a small census of spinal cord disorders like Guillain-Barré syndrome, West Nile virus, and transverse myelitis.
  • High-Acuity Skills: Gain expert experience in complex wound care, autonomic regulation, neurogenic bowel and bladder management, and advanced respiratory care (ventilators and tracheostomies).

Tramatic Brain Injury Care (TBI)

  • Primary Population: This includes patients with traumatic injury such as closed (blunt force or acceleration-deceleration) injuries and penetrating injuries (such as bullets), as well as individuals who have experienced stroke or lack of oxygen to the brain (anoxic injury).

What We Are Looking For

Licensure & Certification

  • Current Colorado RN license; required
  • BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA); required
  • ACLS and relevant specialty certification (CNRN or CRRN); preferred

Education

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program; required
  • BSN required within 18 months of hire (CCNE or NLNAC-accredited program); preferred

Experience

  • 1+ year of RN experience preferred
  • Experience in neuroscience, acute med-surg, or rehabilitation; strongly desired

Skills & Strengths
