Job summary

Alaska Regional Hospital is seeking a skilled Float Pool Nurse to deliver comprehensive nursing care across multiple units in Anchorage, with a focus on patient-centric outcomes and collaboration with the care team.

You will provide assessment, planning, and direct care, adapting to unit needs including PCU, Medical/Oncology, CVSU, Ortho and Inpatient Rehabilitation, while maintaining high standards of safety and quality.

Qualifications

• Must hold Alaska RN license.
• ADN required, BSN preferred.
• At least 1 year of clinical nursing experience.
• BLS/BCLS and ALS/ACLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Provide preventative, supportive, and rehabilitative nursing care based on the nursing process and hospital policy.
• Operate with full patient assignment across PCU, Medical/Oncology, CVSU, Ortho, and Inpatient Rehabilitation, mainly to cover sick calls.
• Assess and plan individualized patient care.
• Respond quickly to changes in condition or treatment response.
• Collaborate with patient/family respecting cultural and age differences; develop care plans with goals and evaluations.
• Communicate effectively with physicians regarding patient condition and test results.
• Perform nursing duties across the continuum of care.
• Participate in department process improvement efforts.
• Maintain composure and professionalism under pressure.
